Today, we are started our holiday. It’s the same destination we visited last year and while I sit here, enjoying a cool breeze, I find myself grateful to God for how far we have come.
My daughter got lost at the train station last time, slipped away from us within a minute and we started off our journey filled with worry. By the way, we found her seated in the train, probably wondering why we were taking so long to get there. This time, my little girl was calm and collected. She has been waiting for her turn and seems to understand better that while what she wants might not happen immediately, it will happen. She doesn’t mind reminding you about it every minute, and I don’t mind being reminded as we wait. Win-win.
I want to thank God for the many things I have been learning from observing Claire. Patience (though hers has its terms and conditions), kindness, ability to care less about the things we can’t change (I worry too much) and ability to look back and count my blessings because every milestone counts.
This far we have come, it has taken God’s grace and the road ahead can only get better as He leads the way.
